Stupid Rishaug got my hopes up on TSN radio saying the Oilers were looking into the Lucic injury to see if it was in breach of contract....imagine if it was tho.....

Bouchard and Maxsimov probably on their way to the Condors just in time for the playoffs....don’t know how much they will play but it’s not going to hurt having them there

Yeah that would be great but not going to happen.

No thanks on Rust. Not sure he drives much without Malkin or Crosby at his side. Bjugstad would be a nice addition but I suspect at a premium cost.

Tampa may look to move JT Miller if they can't find takers for Killorn/Palat/Johnson. He'd be a nice top 6 addition. Foote will be joining next season at RD so I expect they let Stralman and Girardi walk. Maybe Stralman on a 1-year stop-gap deal to give Bouchard more time to develop. MacT has always loved Coburn so if he has influence I could see that being a UFA target.

No chance they take back Sekera in a deal for Palat. The whole point of trading any of those guys is to free up cap space. This is the trade where I could entertain moving Yamamoto and perhaps a lesser cap hit. I certainly wouldn't give up Yamamoto for Killorn. Killorn is pretty much a more consistent Pouliot and I don't give up a prospect of Yamamoto's level for him.

You forgot one Yanni Gourde, who is the forward I'd target most of all.

Hard pass on spending any significant money on UFA Dmen until our scoring depth issues are addressed.

I think they trade Palat, Killorn, Miller and maybe even Johnson before they trade Gourde.

I've brought up Gourde before as someone I would love for Edmonton to go after, but I don't see any way Tampa trades him before trading the likes of Palat, Miller, etc.

Not saying I'd want Coburn. But MacT always liked him.

Stralman won't have many suitors given his age and injury history. If you could sign him for 1-year at $2-3M or something cheap, while swinging a deal to dump Russell then that's a step forward. Or if something bigger materializes like Nurse or Klefbom being moved out for a top 6 winger, then adding Stralman for 1-year is an option. He's just a placeholder while Bouchard develops in the AHL.

Most of the panthers team had offensive issues this season? Nope. Couldn’t keep a puck out of their net.

I think they try to trade guys like Palat, Killorn and Miller first. But if they fail to do so, and the right deal came along, I could see Tampa considering it.

I'd take a flyer on Miller for a reasonable price/if the cap hit could work.

Plenty of great free agency options for the Oilers if they lived in a dream world where Lucic (6M), Gagner (3.15M), Sekera (5.5M), Russell (4M) and Koskinen (4.5M) were off the books and they had 23.15M in extra space to replace those spare parts.

I'd rather they avoid big name UFAs like the plague. Long term investments in UFAs rarely turn out well.

Highly highly doubt Bjugstad is on the chopping block.

Hornqvist and Kessel may be on the trade block.

And of course, I would personally offer infinite BJ's if you took Jack Johnson off our hands.

I hear Eberle is a free agent! Would he consider coming back to the circus?

You can preserve your dental hygiene if you agree to swap Johnson for Lucic and a sweetner.
